Welcome to my website

I trained and qualified as a nurse and for many years held senior nursing posts. Whilst living in Yorkshire I was introduced to painting on porcelain, this was my first experience of the art world.

Later, on moving south to Hertfordshire, I tried my hand at watercolours. I enjoyed it so much that over the years painting has become very much my full time occupation.

I have been greatly influenced by the work of Roger Dellar, the late Debra Manifold and Ian Mackintosh amongst others whose workshops I have attended in the past. This has helped to create the diverse nature of my work.

Having no particular subject that I follow, painting whatever appeals to me either in pastels, acrylics or mixed media. I am very much influenced by colour, line, shape and atmosphere and enjoy painting outdoors as well as in the studio.

My work is often selected for the National Woman's Art Exhibition and the National Pastel Exhibition which take place each year at The Mall Galleries in London. I  also take part in exhibitions in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Shropshire.

Until recently I was chairman of the Buckinghamshire Art Society and am actively involved in Studio 18 and other local art groups
